Roadshow Report, Dundee

Roadshow Stop 2 was held at St Michael's Academy, Kilwinning, North Ayrshire. Ian Smith of SCCC gave an overview at the start of the day, looking at the relationship between self-esteem and learning. Fencedyke Primary School, Irvine, provided the local school view, the team being led by Linda Nicholson (Depute Head), Jeanette Kay (Senior Teacher) and seven P7 pupils. A non-local insight was given by Matthew Boyle of St Gerard's Secondary School, Glasgow. There were five workshops on the day, two of which were led by the Renfrewshire Association of Mental Health, Paisley and the Home/School Employment Partnership, Renfrewshire.

Roadshow Stop 3 was held at Craigie High School, Dundee. Margaret McGhie of SCCC gave an overview on self-esteem and achievement, stressing the value of making mistakes as a way of learning. The non-local perspective was given by a combined presentation from two Clackmannanshire schools, Coalsnaughton and Park Place Primary. Anne Pearson and Linda Horsburgh described their focus on building up a whole staff team. Five workshops were held and these were hosted by senior pupils from Craigie High.
